While I myself have never really understood the vintage fashion craze, vintage fashion photography is a whole other ballgame. After discovering the early works of Edward Steichen, undoubtedly one of the world’s first fashion photographers, I became intrigued not by the fashions in the photographs, but rather, the images themselves. My Vintage Vogue is a website solely devoted to images from back issues of Vogue and other fashion mags, ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s and includes sections for covers, swimsuits, and advertisements. While the photography is admittedly not terribly interesting to me, those intrigued by vintage fashion should give the site a look. It is a great slice of what one of the biggest fashion magazines looked like through the ages.
