Upside Down Faces – Literally
Have you ever looked at a photograph and without quite realizing what it is you just know that there is something that is not quite right? You don’t know what, but there’s something a little off. Sort of like looking at a picture of an alien who is trying to impersonate a human being, all the right features are there, but there’s an intangible element that makes you question what you are looking at. I bet you’ve seen enough SciFi movies to know the feeling, right?
Well, that’s exactly what you get when you first look at this series of photographs. The reason being, that they were all taken of people who were upside down at the moment the shots were taken. A simple idea, yet brilliant in my opinion. Don’t believe me, take a look for yourself.
Brandon Voges, a native of Saint-Louis Missouri, is one of three photographers currently working with Bruton Stroube studio. Most of his work focuses on people, case in point, his portfolios on Bruton Strobe are aptly named People I, People II and so forth. The only deviation from this rule is a file labeled personal, which features an array of beautiful miscellaneous shots.
