Tierney Gearon- ‘Art Comes Out of Accidents’
While studying ballet in Utah, Tierney Gearon was discovered by a European modeling agency. She traveled the world modeling and grew more interested in working of the other side of the camera. After years of more traveling, working as a commercial, and highly regarded, fashion photographer, she settled down. She eventually began an artistic endeavor: documenting her family and extended family…Her latest exhibit was called Explosure and it was shown at the ACE Gallery in Beverly Hills. The show closed in April, but from what I gather, her images are even more stunning and captivating in person. She really does fantastic work with double exposures. And the best way to I can think of to describe them is dream-like. When I have a dream, it’s sometimes so hard to describe, because it’s not normal or comparable, just like Tierney’s photos. They are unique, and something that would be hard to verbalize, one would need to see it in order to begin to understand it, much like a dream, one would have to just experience it in order to fully get what you try to explain. Take a look at her two previous exhibitions. If you are interested in owning some of her work, you can call 310-858-9090 to order a book.
