The Russian Matryoshka Doll gets a Makeover

In celebration of Vogue Russia’s tenth anniversary, Aliona Doletskaya (Editor in Chief of Vogue Russia) commissioned some of the world’s most exclusive fashion designers to dress 31 Stylized 50 cm Russian Matryoshka Dolls in high fashion and artistic couture.
To put it into perspective, traditional Matryoshka dolls range in height from about 3.5 cm to 19 cm. Each doll was crafted and hand painted by the best, most exclusionary Russian craftsmen, sketched out first by the designers. On November 20th, these girls are set to be auctioned off at a charity event. However, if you were interested in owning one of these collector’s items, you’d have to pay 5000 Euros. Ouch! Pretty pricey for a doll, but when you have Stella McCartney, Giles Deacon, Versace, Emilio Pucci, and Miuccia Prada, to name a few, designing them, nothing less will do.
