The beautifully twisted art of Bonsai.
Mario Komsta is a Bonsai artist from Poland. He claims that the manipulation and maintenance of Bonsai trees is an example of “Wabi-Sabi,” Wabi being the kind of beauty that is caused by the right kind of imperfection and Sabi being the kind of beauty that can come only with age. Sounds like a pretty healthy definition of beauty to me.
Komsta does some truly amazing things with these little trees. It can take years to get a Bonsai to where you want it to be, so hats off to those of you with the discipline and patience to take on such a challenge; I can’t even keep a cactus alive, so color me awed. Gorgeous stuff, truly.
