Take my heart.    New York based artist Tara McPherson creates a certain seductive innocence in her illustrations that makes you yearn for more.

Initially stemming from a bad break-up, most of McPherson’s concepts derive from the idea of  growth from heartache and the wisdom received from relationships and other real life issues.  Her work creates an imaginative world filled with emotional and self-reflective beings.   Looking at picture after picture I want to smile but also cry.  I want to think but also blank out.  Confused but also enlightened.

Tara McPherson has created gig posters for such bands including Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, and the Melvins.  She has also contributed with Kid Robot in toy production.
