Mostly dealing with oils, Glenn Brown at first glance appears to have hastily thrown the paint down in order to distort reality.  But upon further inspection, each painting is minutely detailed with no stroke needlessly used.  Brown goes further than reality, in that he creates his own fantasy world that still adheres to the rules of the masters.
