cos autumn 2009 03 540x440 490x400 The Jacket Is Always Greyer: COS F/W 09

After pining for summer for so long all I can do is look towards the fall now that it’s here. Ironic, yes. But with such impeccable bits of fashion on the horizon like the Fall/Winter 09 collection from COS who can really blame me? [ Continue Reading ]

johnrocha5 266x400 Mr. Fancy Pants… Jacket & Coat: John Rocha FW 09

I’m not your Lynyrd Skynyrd “Simple Man” kind of guy. I like fancy things. So does John Rocha. He likes designing them. I like wearing them. Case in point, his Fall/Winter 09 collection, which is all fur, plaid and exquisiteness in its greatest form. In particular I’m quite taken with his use of high-set, skinny, leather belts on two of the overcoats — Details. [ Continue Reading ]

The clothes in Henrik Vibskov‘s Fall/Winter 09 collection are a lot like being 17 and drunk and watching a movie you don’t quite get and realizing that Sour Patch Kids and Bacardi 151 should never be mixed. There was a day during my senior year of high school when my friends and I got [ Continue Reading ]

I can longer muster enthusiasm for fall collections. I’m beyond through with the season. That being said, I don’t think anyone would laugh or point at you or make unkind comments about your manner of dress if you were to sport the threads in Richard Chai‘s Fall-Winter 09 collection. And if by chance you’re into somber colors and have a thing for plaids all the better as the collection is rife with them.

whereabouts spring summer 2009 06 Whereabouts Spring/Summer 09

Life is a series of learning experiences. No matter how much you know there will always be more to learn. I think of myself as being fairly well-informed when it comes to men’s fashion, yet I’d never heard of the Japanese label Whereabouts until they were previewed for a second time on the selectism website. What was once my folly is now my gain. The label seems to specialize in superb, easy fitting and finely detailed casual wear. The denim jacket in their spring/summer collection is one of the best and most interesting I’ve seen in years.

I like the clothes in Antonio Azzuolo‘s forthcoming autumn/winter collection nearly as much as I despise the weather they were meant for. Fingerless gloves, muted colors and slim silhouettes (things of which I approve) are gangbusters with Mr.Azzuolo. Listing such disparate influences as George Bernard Shaw and Keith Richards the collection comes together with what I would call a sort of rogue-dandy kind of vibe.
