It’s unlikely that shaving will ever be pleasurable, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish. In designing the Mister Nesbitt grooming kit Anwar Pack says he was looking to create “something that was traditional and nostalgic, but at the same time contemporary enough to appeal to a more youthful audience.” What he’s done is pack all the essentials of shaving (straight-razor, shaving brush, various conditioning oils) into a handsome looking suede and nubuck kit. The old world-ish apothecary bottles are especially nice, the only true shame is in what you’ll be using them for.
Drinking, dressing and shopping are easily my favorite verbs to engage in. Whenever an event or product allows me to combine the three it’s its own form of heaven. Witness the beer hoodie, a run of the mill hooded sweatshirt with an extra pouch sewn onto the front for holding your drink.
The beer hoodie is a great but not perfect invention. It only comes in heather grey, though you can customize it by adding one of over forty semi-amusing phrases such as, “Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder” and “Save the Ales”. I think of the beer hoodie as a conversation starter perfectly at home in dive bars and tailgate parties… kind of like an old college roommate.
