El Bocho–Berlin Street Artist

I was quite intrigued while perusing through the portfolio of Kerstin zu Pan. Albeit there are some run of the mill portraits, most of the photographs will have you doing a double take.
Sex sells so much better than good music, so why not put the two together? Seems like Rammstein have caught on to the idea with their first single “Pussy”. Rammstein is a German metal band from Berlin that formed in 1994. With five albums under their belt, Rammstein is a very known name in Europe and at some point actually reached some success in United States. [ Continue Reading ]

Earlier this week, 1.5 million people filled the streets of Berlin, Germany to watch a several-day performance by France’s Royal de Luxe street theatre company titled “The Berlin Reunion”. Part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Reunion show featured two massive marionettes, the Big Giant, a deep-sea diver, and his niece, the Little Giantess. The storyline of the performance has the two separated by a wall, thrown up by “land and sea monsters”. The highlight of the Echo Awards in Berlin, Germany is Depeche Mode first official performance of their new single “Wrong” from their upcoming 12th studio album Sounds Of The Universe. The official video for the single is in the works and directed by Patrick Daughters. Album is to be release April 21st in US, and a day or two earlier in Europe. I first saw Depeche Mode perform live in Madison Square Garden in 2005, and ever since then I have turned into a huge fan. The new album contains 13 new tracks and will be supported by Tour of the Universe, I’ll be there with bells on.
If you are from New York City, or have ever visited New York City, I think you will appreciate Christoph Niemann’s latest blog. Currently living in Berlin, Niemann says that on cold days he started playing with his boys’ Legos and began to sculpt mini homage’s to all things NYC. You can check out his complete collection in the New York Times HERE. Below, I have sampled some of my personal favorites.
