Skulls=Art ?
December 10th, 2009
It never ceases to amaze me what a person can do with a blog and an idea. Take Noah Scalin for instance. A guy who just one day decided because of his love for skulls that he was going to dedicate a blog to them. And I’m just not talking about writing about skulls and how much he loves their smooth, placid shape, but actually creating them with his own two hands. Yes, that’s right. Mr. Scalin has taken his love for skulls and made them into internet art.
Noah Scalin started his blog (Skull-a-day) on June 4th 2007 with the first skull pictured. From that first creation he stated that he would make a skull a day for 365 days and completed this project on June 2nd, 2009. He even threw in an extra skull because he ended his project on a leap year! And he didn’t stop there! Scalin went on to create a Skull-a-day 2.0, which started on June 3rd, 2008 and actually features skull submissions from readers. His second go around ended on June 2nd, 2009, but not before a book was published by Lark entitled Skulls and features 150 skulls from Scalin’s 1st year. Scalin is now in his 3rd year and is still seeking submissions from his readers! Check his blog out!

This is one of those things I wish I would have thought of.
