Pick of the Week: Timber Timbre
Rumour has it that the age of coffee and cigarettes has ended, and music suggestions from Starbucks each week are far better for your health than the alternative we’ve all been sucking on for years.Starbucks and iTunes have formed a new partnership in the good old US of A. Pick of the week is “a new program offering coffeehouse customers a chance to discover complimentary new music and music videos each week,” according to the Starbucks press room.
The program started on April 15, and it’s picking up speed. More than 7 000 Starbucks locations across the US are stocking a new Pick of the Week card, redeemable for a free download of that week’s feature song or music video on iTunes. A recent pick was a song called Demon Host, by Timber Timbre.
Jared Morano of CHARTattack described Taylor Kirk of Timber Timbre as “a cream-voiced eccentric folky who loves his reverb,” and it couldn’t be more true. Timber Timbre is easy-to-listen-to indy folk, hailing from Tdot. Pick up the Pick of the Week card to enjoy Demon Host, and while you’re waiting, check out MY Pick of the Week, Timber Timbre’s Oh Messiah, on YouTube.
