Paul Ripke

As artists, I think we all struggle with the tangled web that is inspiration and creation. What already exists, what needs to be put on the table, what is a little premature, and – most importantly – what will put bread on the table. Paul Ripke‘s photographs are vibrant, simple, and, most importantly commercially viable. Does that make up for the fact that they’re mildly uninspired? Probably not. Might it sell a lot of jeans or speedboats, or make a pretty scrapbook in his wife’s bookshelf? Maybe.
He shoots everything from people to sports to fashion, and each and every shot is like a crisp page out of a fresh new magazine. One thing he can definitely flaunt is his ability to photograph things and people who are beautiful, beautifully. Sounds easy, right? Not always. However, from the quality of his shots, this guy looks like a commercial model’s dream come true. Check it out, judge for yourself. Just try to keep from yawning in front of the peanut gallery.
