dioAT 532x400 Ronnie James Dio ( July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010 )Never thought I will be writing this so soon, here it goes. Ronnie James Dio was an American heavy metal vocalist, songwriter and an inspiration of vast amounts to all musicians around the world. He performed with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own band Dio. His most famous work is known on his first Black Sabbath album called Heaven and Hell as he replaced Ozzy Osbourne. This was the album that captured my attention at 11 years old and has been one of my favorites ever since. To many, Dio was known as one of heavy metal’s most powerful singers, renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the “devil’s horns” hand gesture in metal culture. brookes GoofballGobbledyGook 400x400 Kelsey Brookes

Former biochemist turned scientist who can draw, Kelsey Brookes’ figures swirl and dance before the eye in colour and movement (making you really think and examine every detail.) The elephant with the wild eyes breaks free of the Goofball Gobbledygook, into what other dimension and from what dimension, I cannot say. vetpan cookie splash 1 585x386 Cookie Splash art

Cookie splash art by De Vetpan–It’s colourful, there’s a lot of movement, and there’s not a lot to be said here. It’s cookies splashing into various liquids held inside various types of mugs on a mixture of types of tables. Though I know this takes some careful setting up and a knack with photography, I am not entirely sure what the point is. It’s a study in movement and fun with cookies, I suppose. Have a look and weigh in for yourself. The colours are really splashy (hardy har) and vivid, so they’ll catch your eye most certainly. [ Continue Reading ]

Mark Evans 550x389 Etching art by Mark Evans

What can I say about Mark Evans? The guy knows how to wield a knife. The renderings that come of his etching into animal skin (leather) are realistic; have a look at The Butterfly Who Stings to see how much detail and care goes into every knife stroke Evan places on his canvas.
