Niagra Falls via Matthew Wartman

Luckily for us, Matthew Wartman lives near one of the most photogenic places in the world, and knows how to rig a tripod to the roof of his car.
When thinking of Niagara Falls, I tend to not focus on the crazy Vegas-like atmosphere… but instead the deafening sounds of gushing water. As a resident, however— it’s refreshing to see things from Mr. Wartman’s perspective… You know, the typical crazy downtown ferris wheel fireworks nightlife of a New York tourist destination gone wild. All captured in June, this video is a compilation of over 3000 photographs taken on three separate nights in the city.. the car footage—he “made a rig by strapping my tripod to the roof of my car with a winch, and used a haze filter to protect the lens from bugs or other road debris.”
Mr. Wartman, a Hydrogeologist by trade, creates time lapse videos from photographs he takes of his surrounding environments — You can see more of his work on his blog.
