Neon Crackled Walls, Umbrellas and Feathers
Though she started out training as a tailor, Irina Graewe ended up becoming an interior designer and stylist. Whether it’s punches of colour or flashes of shiny metal integrated in white rooms or funky couches set against unexpected pink neon crackled walls, she’s done it. I especially am drawn to her Patchwork series with the vivid purple bed in the room coloured in mute shades of gray; the Russian doll pillow is a standout bit of fun among the wild patterns. Culture Club is a sea of sophisticated hues intermingled with bohemian flare (whose legs are those beneath the layered dresses? A hippy? An artiste?) She’s no stranger to sleek and dark layouts, however, using sheen to achieve the look.
Each photo has a story and though there are no people present in the stories, the colours, textures and patterns are more than enough to tell them.
