Moscow in Slow Motion
Check out this video posted by Andrey Stvolinsky on Vimeo. Stvolinsky (pictured, above) took a montage of scenes of daily life in Moscow then simply slowed them down.
What would normally seem mundane becomes an epic drama in slow motion, complete with an appropriate soundtrack that adds to the tension and melancholy of the piece. Another thing that gets me is the wide range of emotions the piece conveys. One second you are frightened, the next laughing, the next feeling an indescribable sadness. My personal favorite moment comes about 1:30 in when the pigeons fly off over top a set of stone stairs- so beautiful.
