Mindfrank
November 19th, 2009
I’d like to invite you to look at the picture above this text. Just really look at it. It’s the work of Emilia Forstreuter, by the way. Did you know it’s made of paper? It’s true! That’s paper. Isn’t that neat. Imagine the patience it must take to so carefully razor-cut a piece of paper like that. It makes you think about the meticulousness of it all, doesn’t it? About the “why” as opposed to the “what”. How very magical.
Now that we’re past the jump, we can be a little more frank with one another. Frankness is, let’s face it, something of a virtue in our culture, and a lot of what art is about, at it’s root, is peeling away the veneer of polite society and revealing frank and sometimes disturbing truths. So as long as we’re being frank… I have no idea what the frank we’re looking at here. Look at the gallery. Click the link. Isn’t that cool? What the frank is it? Is this Forstreuter person (who is German, I believe) really that franking creative? Cheese ‘n’ rice, check out those videos I wasn’t able to post in the gallery. They’re so franking cool to look at!
You really should spend some time looking at these works. Remember who referred you to them and everything, but bookmark Emilia’s page. This is some neat stuff right here.
