Makin’ that paper
Kyoko Okubo crafts the cutest things out of paper. The post on Booooooom! features some of her work (where I got the thumbnails below), but you can view more of her work here and still more cuteness here. I have no idea how big these pieces actually are, but I’m assuming that they’re rather small. The pieces featured on Mobilia Gallery show much more detail than the ones I have included, and are adorable. They’re called Narrative Paper Sculptures, and they’re friggin’ awesome.
I had a bit of trouble finding out about the artist, and finally stumbled upon a site that shed slightly more light on Okubo. We still don’t know much about the lady, but we know that she’s cool and she crafts a bitchin’ mini paper lady and paper animals.
I love the above creation of the small lady in her undies with a bird perched on her bum. I have a similar picture of myself posing in exactly the same way, with a crow standing on my behind, except that’s just a much sexier version, and it wouldn’t be fair to compare. I have many assets that this little papier mâché lady does not. Like cellulite, for example.
