Jasper Joffe is a painter, but that’s not exactly what’s making him a headline in the news…
Jasper Joffe and his (now ex-)girlfriend ended their relationship during the last holidays. Joffe has taken the break-up so seriously, that he has decided to host “The Sale of a Lifetime” to purge his life of what, I’m sure, reminds Joffe of his ex.
In his exhibition, which will be presented at the Idea Generation Gallery in London, will feature everything Joffe currently owns. The exhibit will feature all his paintings, but it will also feature his books, stuffed animals, and even his bed. Apparently all he will have remaining are the clothes on his back.
The deeper meaning behind this “Sale” is starting anew. The “Sale” represents a funeral and his life afterwards will be a rebirth.
Joffe will express this notion of this rebirth by the number 33 represented in many aspects of this exhibit. Joffe is 33 and he symbolizes a connection with Christ, as it is also the age that Jesus was when he died and then was later reborn.
This will be an especially unique exhibit, as the public will be able to see how Joffe is on a personal level, when most of the time he is only understood by his paintings.
I wish I could somehow get myself to London for the exhibit: Joffe’s work is very vivid and eye-catching. Also, I’m sure he reads some excellent books, since he is also a writer.
