Lily Mae Martin

Lily Mae Martin is an artist who gives us insanely detailed ink drawings as well as coolly sensual paintings, often depicting the people in her life. There is a lot of energy in these pieces, a lot of elastic movement that brings out the caricature in her portraits. But caricature is a) a legitimate style of drawing and b) only part of what is going on here. Look closer and you’ll see.
