I first saw a piece by Kehinde Wiley hanging in my pal Max’s mother’s apartment. It was stellar, hanging on the bright white walls of a modern apartment in Grammercy Park, and kind of perfect. I can’t remember who was depicted in it, but I got a real kick out of it and decided to check out his work again. I’m also too lazy to find any bio information on the man, but here’s some stellar art!

Ohh man Kehinde is the sh*t. So inventive to fuse hip-hop culture with the tradition of Napoleonic portraiture. Pretty amazing your pal Max’s mom owns one of these! Great post!
