Katie Eary: Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

GQ  in the UK interviewed Katie Eary’s as part of a London Fashion Week special.  Any number of fashion bloggers are raving about her work. This one thinks she’s the bee’s knees, though doesn’t really give a reason why. Dan the Scout is not only a big fan, he’s also much more clear about what he sees in the collection.

To be honest, before I read his take, I was unsure what I saw in it. The collection has no doubt elicited its share of raised eyebrows, if for no reason other than that it graphically depicts organs, muscles, and other assorted body components as parts of a fashion ensemble. Shocking? Yeah, kind of. Thoughtful? Meh. Do read Dan’s blog, though. It probably won’t make up your mind, but it at least provides an articulate analysis of why this work is more than a weird study of human anatomy.

But like or dislike, it’s impressive how much buzz this 25-year-old designer is generating. Take a look!
