Ivo Mayr- Just Hanging around
Never mind the old fashioned psychological drawing tests developed to test people’s common sense when looking at the German photographer Ivo Mayr’s photographs, because he would most definitely fail. The settings are nothing more than ordinary, however his playful images places people in the most unusual of places. He gave a whole new meaning to the expression “I’m just hanging around”.
Like a rebellious child, Mayr places the people depicted in his photographs hanging like objects on the places where he captured their images such as on the walls around the streets, their houses, on monuments, on the trees, and light poles. The photographs are unusually lively, and the mixing of ordinary scenery together with the bizarre stance of its individuals arouses imagination. This was Mayr’s attempt in creating a new perspective of ordinary sites around the German town of Koblenz. If he was to capture an image of you, where would you be hanging around? This multiple award winner photographer would definitely be able to capture that moment in style.
