From The Hoop-Meet Earl
From The Hoop is a 3D animation short about a guy named Earl. It was created and directed by three students at Supinfocom-Arles, a school specializing in computer graphics. The story is largely inspired by the life of Earl Manigault, one hell-of-an amazing basketball player . In the 1950′s, he scored 57 points during one high school game and would later be recruited by 75 colleges offering scholarships. He was greatly admired for his leaping abilities, and his signature move, the double dunk. He eventually became known as “The Goat”, short for The Greatest Of All Time.
Later in his career, after moving back to Harlem where he grew up, he developed a heroine addiction. He served time in prison for possession and robbery and upon his release he started the “Walk Away From Drugs” tournament for kids in Harlem. In 1998, he died from heart failure. HBO aired a TV movie about his life entitled Rebound: The Legend of Earl “The Goat” Manigault. From The Hoop is a 3D animation short about a guy named Earl',description:' From The Hoop is a 3D animation short about a guy named Earl'})">
