With the risk of the world’s oil tap running dry looming in the not-so-distant future, the global community is searching for an alternative, a search riddled with confusion and differences of opinions. Right and wrong, useful or futiles, safe or dangerous, red and blue, for and against…
The Forum Nucléaire is a member for FORATOM, the European Atomic Forum, hailing from Belgium. Forum Nucléaire aims to be a reference on the effects of nuclear energy. Recently they released a socially-conscious advertisement – not to sell a product, or advance a particular viewpoint, but rather to pose the question “Êtes-vous pour ou contre l’énergie nucléaire?”
It uses a simple drawing style and red and blue ink to illustrate the pros and cons of nuclear power, laying out the issue in a way that (hopefully) would be very comprehensive, a difficult task for such a contentious issue. Most art lays out complicated issues in a complicated or abstract way… somehow, this advertisement seems to do the opposite quite effectively, without making viewers feel like they’re being talked down to.
