fitness first 1 300x400 Fitness Bus Stop

“Fitness First” bus stop. My first thoughts? How about a more appropriate title? I thought maybe, “Anorexia First,” or hey, how about “Privacy Last” ? Those are catchy, right? Let’s recap…

It’s a crisp… let’s call it a Tuesday. Crisp Tuesday morning in Amsterdam, and you’re settling down to wait for your bus for work. Scarf securely attached. Travel mug full of steaming coffee in hand. iPod blaring the new Thievery Corporation. It’s a good morning. And you take a quick glance around, and there, in the advertising space, staring you point-blank in the face, is your weight, in big, shiney orange numbers.

This great idea was the brain child of a three-person creative team at N=5 advertising agency in Holland – one of the biggest independent advertising agencies in the country. The goal? That the public spectacle of people seeing your weight spelled out on an LCD screen would inspire you to join a gym. Specifically, a Fitness First gym. Or, you know, take up sticking your fingers down your throat, or, you know, whatever…

I think the US should invest in some…Sadly though, the majority of fat people don’t take buses…most over weight people are in the mid states and they drive themselves. Still an entertaining though:)

I hate to sound like a nitpick, but your grammar is just…deplorable. I want to be interested in this, I really do. But it seems you spent so much time on the design (which, I will say, is amazing) that you forgot that people actually have to read your blog. Clean this up…PLEASE. It could be so much bigger if you just did some work.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
