Everything’s Comin’ Up Roses
This commercial takes the quintessential image of innocence and drops in a whole new flavor. Suddenly, the young, free-spirited girl in a field of flowers is something demonic. Her movements are like a scene out of the Exorcist, and at the same time they are strangely seductive. Is this young girl the possessed, or the posessor?
The ad is artistic, that’s for sure. But what about the fragrance? Well, it seems like everything’s coming up roses at Gucci. Or, rather, roses, Chinese osmanthus flowers, with hints of citrus, peony, sandalwood, and patchouli. The commercial gives the impression that this classic, yet unique signature blend will be a strange concoction indeed. It is a potion likely to intrigue and seduce its victims.
When they finally come out with scratch-and-sniff internet, I’ll let you know how effective it really is. The verdict on the commercial? Well, it’s definitely interesting.
