What can I say about Mark Evans? The guy knows how to wield a knife. The renderings that come of his etching into animal skin (leather) are realistic; have a look at The Butterfly Who Stings to see how much detail and care goes into every knife stroke Evan places on his canvas.
The pain in Jones’s face is not lost in the etching and the determination in Ali’s eyes shines through. The story of Evans’ foray into etching on animal skin is an amusing tale worth a gander as well. Though I’m not sure about the actual canvas he chooses to make his art, I cannot deny his talent and patience, as the time it takes to complete each piece can be staggering.
