“Elusive Street Artist Banksy Revealed”… Well not exactly
When it comes to street artists none are as famous as the ever elusive Banksy. With his satirical, playful and obviously bold expressions of graffiti genius, it is no wonder this UK legend/ hero has made it big time. A documentary, or is it a psuedo-documentary, about him called “Exit through the Gift Shop” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival recently and while it doesn’t promise to reveal his identity or anything else about him for that matter, it does promise intrigue.
After all, isn’t that what Banksy is all about. But as a cynical side note ( my practicality always outweighs anything else) Aren’t all or most street artists anonymous? I mean, does anyone really know who tagged the train car with “DL4 Life” or “Kr3w Thik”. But I digress, Banksy’s fame largely comes from the message of his work, whatever its and the locations as well as the artistry and public approval. That’s right. Many people, not just fans, actually fought to preserve this guys work on the locations as they see the artistic value and individuality of what he does. The video trailer is below and as you can see not all is as it seems. In any case, I won’t bore you with the details.. He’s been featured here before so if you want to know more, check it out, or Google him. Good luck with that!
