Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, recently appearing on Letterman, step into the music world with big, shiny smiles and a checkered-picnic-blanket attitude. Upbeat and jubilant group of musicians give us a whole new take on twangy.
The lead vocalists, Alex Ebert and Jade Castrinos dazzle us with a apple-pie-on-the-window-sill kind of joy and country-bumpkin lyrics. When asked in an interview this May on how he found inspiration for his music, Alex gave the following answer:
It was super simple. I just got back to when I was a kid, like five: road trips, and the grand inspirations, not the sort of drug-addled inspirations of punk rock or self-destruction or smaller-minded inspirations — or, I should say, doomed inspirations — but really wide-open, hopeful inspirations.
