Nothing Short of Badass

If you live in Montreal and like performance art (I’m going to go ahead and assume that everyone likes pornography), you should most definitely know who Coral Short is. Hell, even if you don’t like performance art, her photo & video work alone will make your heart beat faster. Combining art, gender-bending, and the magic that is perversion, Coral Short’s work is, simply put, bad-mothaeffin-ass.

I can’t help but love someone who can turn mustaches, glitter, animal costumes and piss into artistic political statements, and Coral makes it look so easy. Critiquing assimilationist politics in mainstream “Gay Rights” movements, smashing the gender binary, and sassing sex politics from Montreal to Glasgow, Vancouver to London UK, Coral’s art is fabulous, intelligent… and deserves more than a second look.
