When Karl Lagerfeld (of Chanel, of course) needed a face to promote his line of jewelry back in ‘06, he wisely looked no further than Chan Marshall, aka “Cat Power”, aka the best thing to happen to women in music since Karen Dalton showed up in Greenwich Village. Her calm, mysterious face and unique sense of style, musically and otherwise, made her the perfect girl for the job, and the pictures were accordingly perfect in their style and underlying darkness. Sure, it was a few years ago, but that’s how often an amazing partnership like this comes along- once in a while.
