Central Park reigns in the Constantines
June 29th, 2009

So you thought indie-rock lost all merit when The Walkmen showed up on the O.C. And for the most part–you were right, with the exception of the Constantines.
An impossible band to describe, with a sound encompassing everything from punk-rock to country, the Constantines have been able to withstand the tides of the indie-wave by remaining consistent with their music and simply faithful to their roots as alternative rockers.
The Arts and Crafts dwellers are going to be playing a show with Explosions in the Sky this Tuesday in Central Park as part of the SummerStage series. I can’t promise a show in the park will do them justice (my level of intoxication wasn’t completely in check last time I saw them at a tiny venue in the K-dub), but hey the show is only $25– compared to the running price for 2 drinks in city?
