What can you really say about coloured fish skeletons? Really. Japanese scientists have found a way to make a dead animal’s flesh and muscles transparent and then they discovered how to dye the skeletal systems various colours. Is it art? Is it science? Does it straddle the two, beautifully proving some guy in a lab’s theory of something or other while looking pretty cool in the meantime? These would make interesting conversation pieces atop the mantle or put up by the hundreds on little shelves on the wall.

Who Now?

Who Now?So who is this ‘ck’ character?! (Someone [apparently] who believes a couple initials are enough to fill in this name business…) Just another art junkie who meanders in the worlds of writing in third person and addictions to colors that flow and lines that soothe. Anything to create symbolism! Anything whose initial introduction sends your logical mind on a irrational trip through the subconscious! [ Continue Reading ]

katie s poofskirts 378x400 POOFskirts?

Wouldn’t want to forget to wear a pair of undies with this skirt.

A woman named Katie Anne, based out of Portland, custom-makes each skirt, dubbed “POOFskirt” by hand and sells them on her Etsy page.  The belts are made of soft leather and she ensures on her Tribe profile that each “poof” is securely fastened and the skirts are very bouncy. She also sells other POOF accessories to accentuate the skirt, as if it doesn’t do that on its own. [ Continue Reading ]

If you have not heard of this man by now, get a television, a radio or a life. He is simply every where and there is a reason for it. Kanye West is not your normal rapper, besides all the drama, the man is very talented and open to a lot more than other rappers are. Which is why I am not surprised that out of all big video music directors to pick from he picked Marco Brambilla, an artistic filmmaker who has a long list of successful exhibitions and works in museums. Brazilian illustrator, digital artist and designer Leandro Lima are filled with circular movement. The figures and designs within the illustrations are connected to one another through their colours and circularity. The interest in these pieces lies in the constant searching of the eye, around and around, from one person or animal or swirl or design to the next. Also, there is a feeling of emotion in many of them, the mask falling and breaking, the people frolicking, the strange half face of the bank advertisement.

DeZir01 1 610x393 585x376 The HeartbeatYou know what’s one of the best things about the auto industry? The fact that it’s a constant drive for success. Always changing and revamping to blend and alter the zeitgeist of times and just change the name of the game for ever. The constant strive for perfection. But Perfection is an endless change. Catch-22. (Am I using that right?)

steven rodrig 1 Circuit Board Sculptures Remind me of the EarthAt first, when I saw that there was such a thing as circuit board sculptures, I rolled my eyes, thinking what now? However, once I have a look at what’s out there, I was pretty intrigued. There actually appears to me to be a movement of people finding ways to repurpose used items into art and that’s cool (in my books anyway.)
