Nendo 2 397x400 Nintendo! I mean...Nendo!

Moleskine, makers of the notebook preferred by writers (and posers like me) everywhere, held a group exhibition entitled “Detour.” An artist named Nendo created the notebook above, which stands out from much of the rest of the crowd because it’s not simply a drawing. I included a couple of other examples in the gallery below so that you can judge for yourself. [ Continue Reading ]

The power of photography: It’s been written about  here before. It has also been written how much one picture can convey with just a still frame. No one understands this better than National Geographic whose pictures alone warrant it a “best magazine ever” title even if it is I who just now arbitrarily bestowed it. The image above of a Mandrill – a monkey-like creature with tangerine eyes, accompanied an article in the March 2001 issue and was also its cover story. [ Continue Reading ]

Introducing OlgaWB

Ah yes, quite a creative user name: my first name and the initials of my two fabulous long-ass last names (thanks Mom, thanks Dad). I was named after a Russian gymnast, but I have no Russian blood coursing through my veins. Although, I really like Tolstoy, does that count for anything? I was born in Montreal and subsequently lived my whole life moving from Montreal to small rural Quebec towns and then back again. Oh, I did live in Ontario for a while where I completed my degree in Drama at Queens University (a degree I have done absolutely nothing with since graduating), so I guess I lied when I said I’d always lived in Quebec.

gotcha man 585x388 Dont Worry, I GatchamanYep. You guessed it. We have another one. Might as well get used it. Our favorite cartoons from the Golden Era of animation -as far as I am concerned- ( 80′s – early 90′s) are making it to the big screen in record numbers. This time it’s Gatchaman by Imagi Studios and whether you are tired of seeing them or not, these movies seem to be worth it as far as Hollywood is concerned.
