MU12 ARCADION 585x295 La Bocas Ridiculously Insane DesignsLa Boca for those of you who don’t know. Means mouth in Italian. But this has nothing to do with that. These guys are a bunch of very popular illustrators. Maybe you heard of them already. Maybe not. I know  I haven’t. They specialize in designs for film, music, fashion and a little something called curiously awesome. I think it’s what Atari would feel like if it were acid. So swallow these down. They’ll give you a pretty good buzz. Bringing you to a place where all you can see is a 1950’s sci-fi robot. Holding a big myriad-colour name. ALMA 01w 1024x576 A(lma)fraid of dolls: Juvenile admission since it starts off so innocently, but I was spooked out by the entire premise of the following from Pixar animator Rodrigo Blaas. Osamu cover 295x400 The Art of Osamu: Japans Walt Disney

The image you see above is certainly a familiar one. It goes without saying that Astro Boy is an icon just as Mickey Mouse is to Disney, and as Mario is to Nintendo. The deceptively cute character is by far the most popular creation of one Osamu Tezuka, referred to by many as the “God of Manga.” Although I’m not really in to apotheosis of any kind, unless of course we’re talking about Michael Jackson :), the epithet certainly isn’t unwarranted considering Mr. Tezuka’s role in creating what has now become an explosive industry. exit through the gift shop banksy 532x400 Elusive Street Artist Banksy Revealed... Well not exactly

When it comes to street artists none are as famous as the ever elusive Banksy. With his satirical, playful and obviously bold expressions of graffiti genius, it is no wonder this UK legend/ hero has made it big time. A documentary, or is it a psuedo-documentary,  about him called “Exit through the Gift Shop” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival recently and while it doesn’t promise to reveal his identity or anything else about him for that matter, it does promise intrigue. There are about a million reasons why Pulp wasn’t just any Brit-Pop band (Jarvis Cocker! Hello!!!) but the perhaps the most defining one was their dramatic, stylish, UNREAL music videos. Check them out after the jump! [ Continue Reading ]
