Official Star Trek 2009 Movie Trailer

YouTube Preview Image

To be honest I am not a big Star Trek fan, but I think I might actually go and check out this movie… One thing I never liked about Star Trek is that it was story line that dealt too far into the future, so far that I could not relate.  This movie however, explores the early Starfleet careers of future Enterprise officers. The release date is May 8, 2009 I am sure there are plenty of people will be lining up for this one.

After much anticipation, the curtain comes up and the red carpet rolls out on Metropolitan Home’s Showtime house: a transformation of a 19th century New York City townhouse into a modernist masterpiece inspired by six Showtime original series—Californication, Dexter™, The L Word®, The Tudors and Weeds, plus the soon-to-be-launched United States of Tara. Open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from September 13 to October 26, this fusion of design and entertainment is the first of its kind and will be brought to life by design’s top stars: Jamie Drake, Tori Golub, Laura Kirar, Amy Lau, White Webb, Vicente Wolf, Johnny Grey, Luca Andrisani, Kirsten Brant, Jim Zivic, and Enea. From top to bottom of this stunning four-story Greek Revival townhouse, you’ll enter visionary spaces that evoke the style, seduction, drama, and extreme wit of these acclaimed Showtime series. It’s a place where design rewrites fiction into fact and makes fantasy take flight.

Watchmen

When I saw this I got the chills, just like I got when I first saw the 300 trailer. Make sense now that I know this movie was directed by the 300 director. Check it out, definitely a movie I am looking forward to seeing.

A Cure for Hangovers and Misantrophy?

I don’t do mornings and I’m not a fan of people I don’t know, especially when they come in crowds and are fanboys; nonetheless, I braved all those things along with an epic hangover to see The Dark Knight this past Friday. I was more than well rewarded.

The opening bank heist sequence tells you everything you need to know about the Joker and the tone of the film. This isn’t a superhero movie, it’s a crime-drama with men in costumes and makeup. Heath Ledger is beyond tremendous as the movie’s principal villain. He takes his role as The Clown Prince of Crime, along with the entire film, to a place you could never dream of it going.I feel embarrassed for anyone else who has ever attempted the role. No one can play the Joker again as long as people who have seen this portrayal roam the Earth.

Beyond that the movie has all the action and special effects requisite of a summer blockbuster. Director / screenwriter Christopher Nolan and company have given us the movie of not just the summer, but the decade.
