Idan Raichel Project – Mi’Ma’makim

While recent headlines are dominated by news of conflict and war in the Middle East,  Idan Raichel Project an Israeli musical collaborative has achieved success by looking beyond intercultural differences and celebrating the value of diversity. With its blend of traditional Ethiopian folk music, Arabic poetry, Yemenite chants, Biblical psalms and Caribbean rhythms. I actually seen them perform here in New York Central Park Summer stage, it was a great show and brought a lot of people of different races together. It’s amazing how powerful music can be.  Check out the live version of the song after the break…

Fever Ray – If I Had A Heart

Another great one for you all to bookmark! Here is a spooky yet incredible video by Fever Ray, a solo project of Karin Dreijer Andersson ( The Knife ).  The Knife is one of my favorite groups of all time and to hear Karin’s voice again in something even darker and more weird, puts me in a musical utopia.  Directed by Andreas Nilsson, I am not sure what to make of it, but I love the way it’s shot and how great it suits the music.
