iron man pics 51 Iron Man: Its Whats For DinnerI was never a really big Iron Man fan. I grew with the web-slinger. The Bat. And of course, Wolverine. But sadly. I grew all out of that. It’s too bad. Because those were some fun things to get caught up in. That’s why it makes me really happy to see guys like this mystery man to grow a pair of balls and actually design a superhero suit. Not only designing it though, but actually walking around in public wearing it. That. Takes balls. More than you have. And way more than I have. Face it. We’re all pussies. I don’t know this guys name. I don’t think it matters. But what you have to recognize is that seeing stuff like this should inspire. [ Continue Reading ]

il 430xN.116662209 Get Your Steampunk FixHas it ever happened to you? You just cranked the large brass propeller of that flying octopus like gizmo you spent years building. You know the one. It shoots oil for a quick getaway. The tip of the tentacles shoot sparks to ignite fires. And the suction cups are recoiling vents that suck in all the beautiful gems and diamonds needed to fund such a gear stricken behemoth. And just as you’re ready to rule the world. You realize that you forgot you’re large mad-scientist goggles. [ Continue Reading ]

adidas gazelle2 3 The Timeless ClassicLet’s take some time. Look around the room. Pretend we hear some birds singing. Wondering what might be better. The white sands of tropicana. Or The painting sun somewhere in the Mediterranean. But there’s something more simple and realistically possible in life that gives off almost as much tranquil amazement. Drum roll please…. MU12 ARCADION 585x295 La Bocas Ridiculously Insane DesignsLa Boca for those of you who don’t know. Means mouth in Italian. But this has nothing to do with that. These guys are a bunch of very popular illustrators. Maybe you heard of them already. Maybe not. I know  I haven’t. They specialize in designs for film, music, fashion and a little something called curiously awesome. I think it’s what Atari would feel like if it were acid. So swallow these down. They’ll give you a pretty good buzz. Bringing you to a place where all you can see is a 1950′s sci-fi robot. Holding a big myriad-colour name. I think it reads “Retrocolour-tronic.” And you’ll see strange objects float all around you. Behind a velvet black backdrop.

Osamu cover 295x400 The Art of Osamu: Japans Walt Disney

The image you see above is certainly a familiar one. It goes without saying that Astro Boy is an icon just as Mickey Mouse is to Disney, and as Mario is to Nintendo. The deceptively cute character is by far the most popular creation of one Osamu Tezuka, referred to by many as the “God of Manga.” Although I’m not really in to apotheosis of any kind, unless of course we’re talking about Michael Jackson :), the epithet certainly isn’t unwarranted considering Mr. Tezuka’s role in creating what has now become an explosive industry. In the spirit of the upcoming holiday – the one with all the hearts and candy and stuff, which if you leave your house at all, is impossible to avoid the ads for – I decided that for two weeks I will show ” a little love” to some of the artists out there that are not only talented but inspire crushes from here to San Fransisco. Welcome to “The Crush of the Week” post.
