Public Farm 1: Growing Art in the Outer Borough

Located at MoMa’s PS1 extension in Long Island City, New York, P.F.1 (Public Farm One) is an urban farm concept that evokes the look of a flying carpet landing in the P.S.1 courtyard. When ink, paint and bronze are no longer due, grab a box of LEGO blocks.

Such is the sentiment of Nathan Sawaya – a New York-based artist who forges his often life-size creations from toy building bricks. According to CNN, Sawaya’s LEGO art has become so trendy that Donald Trump himself has asked the artist “to create a replica of the new hotel he’s building in Dubai.”
