Steering wheel made of carrots… powered by chocolate and vegetable oil… this racing car is pretty much made out of what I eat on a daily basis.

tylenolbigbrother 550x275 Mommy, whats liver failure?

From marketing firm Vale Euro RSCG comes this line of advertisements for Tylenol.  For you unilingual anglophones out there, the spots address “those certain questions that are headaches.”  The Tylenol brand is owned by McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary whose focus is to market prescription drugs.

Boys! Girls! Friends! Lovers!

I know that it’s not very popular to rag on the NYPD, even though the massive amounts of good will they amassed over the year following September 11th is pretty much spent now.  It’s with this karmic sense of the world– and of the NYPD, who in the days before they were unilaterally given sainthood eight years ago, were known to perforate off-work street vendors and show newly married immigrants the NYPD’s definition of doggie style– that I viewed the Courteous, Professional, and Respectful (hah!) members of New York’s finezst with their green- friendly squad cars.

New York duo Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz have a bewildering knack for manifesting what I’ll delicately call “life force.”  They are equally adept at realistic sculpture as they are in creating fairy tale microcosms (they’re particularly well known for their mind-blowing snowglobes).  In both cases they achieve maximum effect through the allowance of space to the terrible and the fantastic, and in any event their work is wondrous to behold. td 02 md 251x400 Recycled Handbags= Recycled Idea Here’s the latest and not so greatest in go-green fashion: handbags and accessories made completely from recycled paper, candy wrappers, and bottle tops. Yup, that’s right. The folks over at Ecoist have designed a line of completely environmentally friendly carriers for all the crap and the technology you need to carry. Something tells me that this is only the beginning of [ Continue Reading ]

Christiano Siqueira is an illustrator who captures the edge of a graphic novel with the grace of silk.  The freelance Brazilian artist uses Vector graphics to create some very exciting imagery. Imagine how tasty everything looks from a bird’s eye view of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and then bungee jumping down close enough to [ Continue Reading ]

kusterle 6 397x400 Kusterle

Roberto Kusterle has been expressing himself through visual art since I was born. That’s twenty-two years of  old-fashioned soul-searching. Kusterle is an Italian born in 1948, and over the years he has created dozens of [ Continue Reading ]

np scorch09 600x445 539x400 Josh Keyes and his green thumb

Although Josh Keyes has been painting for decades, it seems as though his body of work was meant for the here and now and expresses an alarmingly accurate message about the battle of man vs. nature. Incredibly, skilled and detailed, his paintings all follow a common thread in both structure and theme. All deal with the same type of illustration coupled with an isolated block of [ Continue Reading ]

Ok, so maybe I’m not a director or anything. And maybe I don’t make commercials for a living. But you know what? I took a goddamn advertising class is college and I got 98%. I am therefore a leading authority on advertisements, so listen, little people…listen to my words…
I guess this ad is trying to tell us that Delvos is the way to go if we want to piss off our whole friggin’ neighbourhood because this thing BLOWS YOUR LEAVES EVERYWHERE..LOOK, one of them is on Jupiter. SOOOO STRONG. You know, stronger isn’t always better. Like in the case of B.O., for example. [ Continue Reading ]
