Sakura Gari 02 282x400 Sakura Gari

Of all the Japanese manga I have encountered, Yuu Watase‘s Sakura Gari is possibly the first that has intrigued me.

Hamasaki Ayumi Hamasaki Ayumi (then and now)

It’s hard to believe that all 5’1 of a rebellious teenager raised by a single mother could become Japan’s “Queen of Pop”.

That, however, is exactly what Hamasaki Ayumi did. [ Continue Reading ]

94 Maki My day

Design company Maki located in the Netherlands is taking a fresh approach to custom gear. Being recently re-introduced to comic books by a not to be named boyfriend, I have begun to explore the artists that are in charge of the intricate and awesome illustrations/ colorings that are integral to a succesful comic. Some nay sayers would argue that comic books are not artistic… well I beg to differ.
