Bejing Olympic Gardens

For the anticipation of China Olympic Games, they prepare in beautiful way. I don’t know the location of these gardens, but they are the most amazing thing ever made out of trees.  Two of my favorites:

Tate Modern is getting a facelift

Tate ModernSeems like one of London’s top tourist locations is getting a make over, to say the least.  Actually it is a completely new development, work will start in 2009 and is planned to be completed in 2012, just in time for London Olympic games.  See more info about this project here.

LEGO Art

When ink, paint and bronze are no longer due, grab a box of LEGO blocks.

Such is the sentiment of Nathan Sawaya – a New York-based artist who forges his often life-size creations from toy building bricks. According to CNN, Sawaya’s LEGO art has become so trendy that Donald Trump himself has asked the artist “to create a replica of the new hotel he’s building in Dubai.”

Leisurama Homes: Echoing ‘50s

These vivacious homes, first introduced at the New York World’s Fair, became available in the 1950s and for a short time sold at Macys, fully furnished with general electric appliances and every other necessity, including plates, towels, and even toothbrushes.

The Leisurama story is one of ambition, creative marketing, and a desire to leave the daily grind behind and escape to a fun, playful utopia. It is a story about a post-war nation searching for peace and diversion on the home front. It is a story about the clash of ideologies. It is a story about suntans, fishing, and outdoor barbecues.

Gravity? Not a problem

upside-down-houseYou are not looking at a photoshoped image. Designed by a Polish philanthropist Daniel Czapiewski, the unstable and backward construction was built as a social commentary on Poland’s former Communist era. Makes perfect sense to me
