Calvin Ho

This, dear readers, is the mythical creature better known as the One-Handed Hoodied Chimaera. They’re known for their love of lipstick and extraordinary ability to be photogenic.

What’s that? You’ve never heard of them before? Well maybe you should brush up on your mythical creature education.

Or, maybe you should familiarize yourself with the work of Calvin Ho, whose interests are eclectic, to say the least. He burst onto the Internet scene back in 1997 and is an artist, author, DJ and consultant, to say nothing of the small businesses he’s started and maintained. He’s opened an underground dance music record store and design studio (his wife also opened a salon in the same venue, which quadrupled as their apartment).

But back to our Chimaera. Calvin created her as part of a t-shirt exhibition in Hong Kong. The design was conceived to reflect the exhibition’s “Some Kind of Wonderful” theme and eventually sold out. He has designed graphic art for the likes of Nokia, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marcs and Spencer. He’s also been featured on numerous magazines and blogs including xpaider, psd tuts+, and ideafixa.
