New York City street artist Ellis Gallagher has most recently taken to setting his art on fire. On purpose. Apparently this is nothing new in the world of graffiti. “If you love something set it on fire,” seems to be taking the art world by storm and striking fear into the hearts of those responsible for maintaining the fire code violations at galleries nation-wide. My major question: is it about the symbolic act of burning or is about the final product? Looking at these photos I hope it’s the former since I can’t really see what the hell is going on after the actual burning takes place.
