BMW S 1000 RR Super Bike
BMW is finally releasing an attractive bike. This BMW S 1000 RR Super-Bike is set to be released in early 2010. Wanna know why it’s attractive? Because they have taken almost every design feature from the Yamaha R6, which is what I ride! Seriously, the seat, the gas tank, the window shield, the side mirrors, the second rider seat/glove compartment, even the casing looks like previous R6 models.
There are some engine specs that do juice it up a bit, it wouldn’t be a ‘Super-Bike’ if it didn’t. It has 193 horsepower at 13,000 RPM and weighs 455.3 pounds with all its fluids. Which makes the bike of of the best power-to-weight ratio available for public consumption. It sounds pretty sweet, I would love to give it a spin, especially since it wouldn’t feel much different from my baby, just a bit more power. My R6 is a 600cc, has 108 horses 18,ooo RPM, top speed of 151 mph, goes 0-60 in 3 second, and weighs around 388 pounds dry. Those specs are stock R6 standards, however, I’ve modified mine and now it has a K&N Cotton Air Filter, a Power Commander III, and a Micron Serpent full titanium exhaust system. All lightening my load by t10 to 20 pounds and increasing my horses to about 130-135. Yes, I’m in love.
Here’s a cool promo video for the S 1000:
