If you think the caricatures you can get on the streets of New York City are good…you have not seen the work of Blake Loosli. He keeps a blog where you can see his work evolve from the basic sketch into the fully colored and shaded portrait. What makes Loosli’s work unique is that unlike some caricature artists he doesn’t appear to be mocking or cartoon-izing his subjects but translating them into something more artistic with a very Warhol-ian pop art feel. And we all know that Amy Winehouse hasn’t looked this good since they put her in Madame Toussaint’s wax museum. My personal favorite is the take on No Country for Old Men, above.
