christian schmidt landscape0320 585x390 Beyond the Camera Lens

Christian Schmidt, a German freelance photographer, is award-winning for a reason.  No matter what he points his camera at, the resulting image is breathtaking, intriguing, or mesmerizing.  He categorizes the photographs in his portfolio into landscapes, people, architecture, and automotive.  Nearly each of them are masterpieces imbued with a surreal quality, a bit of fantasy.  Some of Christian’s landscape portraits look like they are straight out of The Lord of the Rings or another such fantastical setting where magic is the norm and mythical creatures reside.

He uses different techniques in his photographs, so I was never tired of viewing them.  Some are washed out and ethereal, shapes barely there.  In others, the vibrancy is pumped up, colors darkened, and lines are defined and sharp.

As you peruse Christian Schmidt’s photos, you don’t quite know what to expect next.  The one thing you can be sure of, however, is not being bored.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
