Beauregard: Beauty with Regard
Christophe Beauregard’s photographs are a direct representation of his own name. Beau. Beautiful.
Beauregard lives and works in Paris. His photography captures life as we know it without adding any extra bells and whistles. His series include “Portraits,” “Semantic Tramps,” and “Technomades.”
“Portraits” is pretty self-explanatory. With many of the photographs, the camera lens is up close and personal with the subjects. It’s hello art, meet what I do on a day to day basis, but add some funk to it as well.
“Semantic Tramps” is a series Beauregard created to depict the homeless. These aren’t real homeless people, folks, but the intensity of the photographs combined with certain postures and expressions makes it realistic enough to want to throw some quarters at the picture.
“Technomades,” we all can relate to. We are, after all, in an age where we rely on our Blackberry, Iphone, and other gadgets. Here, subjects are using their technology that isn’t really there.
