First Name
Megan
Description
Bonjour! No, I’m not French, actually I’m Brazilian, I just thought that would be a slick way to enter the “room!” My name is Megan and I currently reside in one of the greatest cities in the world: NYC! Now, don’t get offended, I said ONE of, not THE. :) Anywho, I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself, seeing that you and I will be hopefully getting very familiar with each other, meaning that in a completely platonic manner! I am many things: A struggling Actor/Writer. ( And, yes, I am very well aware of the fact that in NY there are many struggling [insert here] kind of people who all seem to have /Actor on their backside. Struggling Doctor/Actor, struggling Dogwalker/Actor, struggling Waitress/Actor…etc. You get the idea. There are A LOT of struggling people here!) Photographer. (Who can’t, by the way, afford to process her film b/c she seems to always be broke and as a consequence, doesn’t even know what pictures she has even taken!) Assistant Manager at a boutique. (Hey, it pays the bills) A mom. (To my animals) Painter. (I love Van Gogh!) I think that’s enough for now! I don’t want to completely give away my mystique! I guess you’ll just have to drop by and hang with me every so often to get to know me and vis-versa! Talk to you soon! <3 Megan

skull1 418x400 Skulls=Art ?It never ceases to amaze me what a person can do with a blog and an idea.  Take Noah Scalin for instance.  A guy who just one day decided because of his love for skulls that he was going to dedicate a blog to them.  And I’m just not talking about writing about skulls and how much he loves their smooth, placid shape, but actually creating them with his own two hands.  Yes, that’s right.  Mr. Scalin has taken his love for skulls and made them into internet art. 149698 Fetch 2 SOLD in Paris Roll over Red Rover! It’s official.  My love of all things puppies has been solidified by artist Robert Bradford!  Born in London, England and obtaining a B.A in painting at Ravensbourne College of Art in Kent and an M.A. in Film at the Royal College of Art, London, Bradford discovered his knack for creating sculptures out of odds and ends when he found a box of his children’s discarded toys in his studio. The toys themselves interest me in their own right as mini sculptures by unknown and uncredited artists. Mostly I use the toys abstractly as forms with which to build muscle bone or internal or external organs but all types of human pursuits can be referred to and represented through them – things loved or hated – things used and carried as tools etc etc.-Robert Bradford [ Continue Reading ]

01 Axis of Power 532x400 Is it a Bird, a Plane, No! Its Art!

If someone were to ever ask me if I wanted to see what a comet, in moving form, looked like, I would probably have to respectfully decline. Considering that the only images I have ever seen of a comet were in movies such as Armageddon or Deep Impact where parts of the Earth are either inevitably destroyed or the comet is depicted as an approaching Doomsday symbol, you could imagine my apprehension of actually wanting to experience the foreign notion of not the destructive powers of an astroid, but instead of the beauty.  I know, you’re thinking, why would I ever think something that could end civilization would be ever be beautiful?  David Spriggs has managed to change my mind ..

Pooten09.05.11.1 536x400 Holger PootenLondon based Photographer Holger Pooten apparently was reading my autobiography when he was creating this amazing photo!  Represented by Horton-Stephens in the UK, Pooten uses his keen eye for detail and suspended animation to create eye-opening images such as this one.  Unlike your regular digital photography, these images have an almost tangible effect.  It is almost as if the photo, with its sharp edges and corners, appear as real life happening right if front of your eyes.  Take a look at these.. French fashion photographer Bruno Dayan is not your average picture taker.  His perception of Art or likewise “Fashionable Art,” reeks of such palpable sexuality that, in turn, the viewer finds themselves locked in a battle of good and evil fought between their mind and well…you get the point.  Based in Paris and represented by Serlin Associates, a photographic management group located both in Paris and London, Dayan has not only associated his name with Quality and Sensuality, but as he has established himself as a Fashion Photographer, he has had the opportunity of working with exclusive clients such as Louis Vuitton, Moschino, Yves Saint Laurent, Max Factor, and Loreal. Making of 2 533x400 Maze of Glass..

A creation of fantastical porportions can be the only way to describe artist’s Ayala Serfaty glass interpretation of the essence of nature in its most abstract form. Along with photographer Albi Serafty, Ayala Serfaty created the studio Aqua Creations in 1992 which seeks to develop and produce furnishing and lighting items through an artistic approach. It is in the comfort of her studio, whose headquarters are located in Tel Aviv and, as a result of her studio’s success, a showroom that is located in New York,  that she has managed to create these almost underwater like glass reefs which evoke in its beholder a childish, awe-eyed amazement resulting in serenity and a peaceful deafness.
